Come down and join the Pigs, one of Perth’s oldest and largest AFL Masters football clubs. We pride ourselves on being a “social club that plays a bit of footy”.

The atmosphere is very family friendly, with free entertainment for the piglets (kids) on game days and the “pig pen” for the WAGs (wives and girlfriends) to enjoy cheese and wine.

AFL Masters WA operates community based games for players aged 35 and over in the Metropolitan area as follows:

    • Supers: 35 years and over
    • Masters: 40 years and over
    • Seniors: 45 years and over
    • Super Seniors: 50 years and over

Training is Wednesday evenings at Ferndale Park, Metcalfe Road, Ferndale, from 6 – 7pm. Games are a shortened format, and held every second Sunday during the season at grounds throughout the metro area.

It really is “footy for kicks”. We’re not playing for sheep stations – just mateship. And if you don’t want to play, that’s fine too – we have a large number of social members who get extremely good value from their nominal fees.

New players are always welcome, so drop in on Wednesday or contact us.

Committee Announcement

The committee is pleased to have been presented from one of our members Erwin Edlinger a plan for new Members and Player Recruitment.
Erwin has an abundance of Footy Club experience and has held previous club committee positions.
Our committee and Erwin know the importance of recruitment for our club to continue to grow and be the great club it is.
Part of Erwin’s strategy is to have a sub- committee set up to assist in recruitment strategies and actions that will deliver new members / players to take us into the future.
This all needs to happen now, not in the off season or the beginning of training next year.
We all wish Erwin and his sub- committee all the very best in their planning.
With the AGM approaching in the very near future it is highly recommended that Erwin be nominated to be part of the Vic Park 2022 committee with the position of Recruitment Management

Darwin 2021

The Northern Territory Masters are hosting a 9’s mini carnival on the traditional Bali 9’s weekend June in Darwin. We wish to put it to all of our members to see if we are interested in putting a team or two in for this carnival. I’m sorry it’s not Bali but I’m sure it will be a great trip. Football Jumpers

The final cost for those who have ordered their own jumper will be $55. It is very important to note that this needs to be paid by next Wednesday at the latest either by an EFT or cash paid to the club on Wednesday (24/3/2021) night after training. The order goes in Thursday morning.

Round 9: Booragoon (again)

The Pigs football family made their way to Booragoon in sunny conditions where the Masters took to the field with only 12 players, a bit like the Australian cricket team but without the sandpaper. With so few players on the field, there was plenty of room in which to run so Guy took the opportunity to run directly towards the oppositions goal. With the ball. Strangely no opposition players attempted to tackle Guy*.

PORK TALK.

Booragoon Round The warm balmy cocktail and cheap Bintang fuelled Kuta Town House nights and sweat soaked glory of Canggu were still fresh in the mind of all Bali Pigs as we headed to a larger but softer battlefield called Karoonda. The Weather Bureau told us that there was a high probability of getting 2 inches on Sunday, coincidentally the same as Gav’s and Rob’s chances in Bangkok.

TIC TOC HOME ROUND

Vic Park Pigs clubman Stephen Bertocchi (Tic Toc), who died from an asbestos related disease is remembered through the Best Clubman Award and also the annual Tic Toc Day where all Pigs players wear board shorts in his honour to remember his contribution and his untimely passing.

Also, this week all Pigs wore black armbands in memory of Daryl McLauchlan’s (Mad Dog’s) Dad who lost his battle with illness in hospital last week. Commiserations to Daryl and his family.
